The Head of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, Azad Hamed Amin, in coordination with the Raparin Office of the Journalists Syndicate, visited the city of Ranya on 15–16/1/2025 to attend a professional safety training course. The course was organized in coordination with the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and was conducted over two days for (27) journalists from media centers in the Raparin area, held in the city of Ranya.
The Head of the Syndicate, accompanied by Mustafa Mohammed, Secretary of the Raparin Office, and Amanj Khidr, a member of the office, visited Mr. Hewa Qarani, Head of the Raparin Autonomous Administration, to enhance greater coordination between the Raparin Administration and the Raparin Office of the Syndicate.
The same delegation also visited the Ranya Sports and Youth Center, where they were received by Ms. Shilan Saeed Mohammed. They expressed their gratitude to the Sports and Youth Center for allocating the center’s facilities for the journalists’ training course and for journalists’ press conferences.
The professional safety training course was attended by the international trainer Mohammed Akraei. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit Mr. Muwafaq Mirawdeli in the city of Qaladze and to review his innovative project in archiving and journalism.
The same staff also visited Darwaza Television, where a meeting was held with the director and staff of the channel to discuss the situation in the region.
Additionally, the Head of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate held a press conference in the city of Ranya for media outlets in the Raparin area, during which a number of questions related to the problems and demands of journalists in the region were raised and discussed.
