regarding the events that have taken place in Rojava (Kurdistan of Syria) and the negative role played by certain parties against the Kurdish cause in Syria, as well as the injustice, oppression, and violations that are occurring.
The honorable and unified position demonstrated by media professionals in Southern Kurdistan, together with the unified editorial line of all our media platforms (visual, audio, print, and electronic), deserves our sincere thanks, respect, and appreciation. We hope to see this same unity of stance, position, and opinion in all other situations, events, and crises as well.
We do not conceal our concern about the consequences of the ongoing military operations and their impact on our media professionals, whether in the channels of Southern Kurdistan working in Rojava, or the media outlets operating in the regions of Rojava and the Euphrates, where we have not yet received accurate statistics and data regarding the damage and losses suffered by media offices, channels, journalists, and their equipment and property.
We join our voice with the voices of the media organizations in Rojava and call upon all international media organizations to closely monitor the situation of the media and the violations being committed, because the attacking side does not have a clear media ideology, and it is still unknown how it views the media environment, freedom of expression, and democracy.
Victory to Rojava and safety to journalists.
