A delegation from the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, with the aim of participating in the 32nd Congress of the International Federation of Journalists and the centenary celebration of the Federation’s founding (Golden Jubilee), has arrived in Paris.
The syndicate’s delegation consists of Azad Hamadamin, President of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, Akad Murad, a member of the Syndicate Council, and the two female journalists Chiman Salih and Speda Hazim, as part of the syndicate delegation.
The participation of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate delegation, as an active member of the Federation, in the 32nd Congress and the centenary of the Federation’s founding, has its role and impact in shaping the Federation’s media policies.
The congress will begin on May 4 and conclude on May 7. During the congress, the Federation’s three-year future program and plan will be discussed, and the president and senior council members will be elected.
The Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, as an active member of the International Federation of Journalists, whose headquarters is in Brussels, has continuously participated in international activities alongside syndicates around the world, taking part in activities and meetings to improve laws and media projects in accordance with global standards, and organizing professional safety training for journalists in the Kurdistan Region.
In previous years’ congresses, which were held in countries such as France, Morocco, Tunisia, and the Sultanate of Oman, the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate has actively participated, also benefiting from the Federation’s projects and ideas to serve the media environment in the Kurdistan Region.
The International Federation of Journalists was founded in 1926 in Paris and is commemorating its centenary in Paris. It includes 138 syndicates worldwide and 600,000 journalists are members of the Federation.
